Privacy Policy

About this policy

At Taxes Done, we treat your information the same way we treat your work — with care, and as if it were our own. This policy explains, in plain language, what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we look after it, and the rights you have. Taxes Done Consultants Private Limited (“Taxes Done”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is responsible for the information you share with us.

What we collect

When you contact us through this website

Usually through our callback form, or by calling, messaging, or emailing us, you may share:

  • whether you’re an individual or a business
  • your name
  • your phone number
  • your email address (optional)
  • the service you’re interested in
  • a preferred date and time for a callback (optional)
  • anything you choose to tell us in your message (optional)

We only ask for what we genuinely need to understand your enquiry and get back to you.

When you become a client

To actually complete your work, we may need more detailed and more sensitive information. Depending on the service, this can include identification and tax details such as your PAN and Aadhaar, your financial records and documents, and in some cases login credentials for government or regulatory portals (for example, the Income Tax or GST portals) where these are needed to file or stay compliant on your behalf. We collect this only when it’s genuinely required for the work you’ve engaged us for, and only what’s necessary.

When you simply browse the website

Like most websites, we and the services we use may automatically collect basic technical information, such as your device and browser type, approximate location, and how you use the site. This helps us keep the site secure and working well. See Cookies below.

Cookies

Our website uses cookies — small files stored on your device — to help the site function and to understand how it’s used so we can improve it. We use essential cookies that are needed for the site to work properly, and analytics cookies that help us see how visitors use the site (for example, which pages are most useful) so we can make it better. Some of these may be set by trusted third-party services we rely on, such as our analytics provider; we don’t control how those third parties use them. You can manage or turn off cookies at any time through your browser settings — though some parts of the site may not work as smoothly without the essential ones.

How we use your information

We use what you share only to understand your enquiry and respond to it, to call or message you back, and to provide the guidance and services you’ve asked us for. We will never sell your information, and we won’t use your details to send you unrelated marketing or spam.

The basis on which we use it

We rely on your consent — you share your details because you want us to help, and that’s the basis on which we use them. You can withdraw your consent at any time (see Your rights below). Where the law requires or allows us to process information for specific reasons — for example, to meet a legal obligation — we may do so as permitted.

How long we keep it

We keep your information only as long as we reasonably need it: until your enquiry is resolved, for a reasonable period thereafter, or for any longer period required under applicable law. After that, we remove or anonymise it.

How we keep it safe

We treat your information with the same care we’d want for our own. Sensitive information — such as identification details, financial records, and any login credentials shared with us — is held securely, with access restricted to only those professionals who genuinely need it to carry out your work. Everyone who handles your information is bound by a strict professional code of conduct and confidentiality obligations, including non-disclosure agreements. While no system can be guaranteed completely secure, we take reasonable and appropriate steps to protect your information from loss, misuse, or unauthorised access.

Who can see your information

Your information stays within our team and the professionals in our network — Chartered Accountants, Cost Accountants, Company Secretaries, Advocates, and industry specialists who work with us as consultants — and is shared only with those who need it to address your needs, each bound by confidentiality. It may also be shared with trusted service providers who help us run our work and our website (such as our hosting and analytics providers), under appropriate confidentiality. We may disclose information where we are required to by law. We do not sell or rent your information to anyone.

Your rights

You have the right to ask what information we hold about you and access it, to ask us to correct or update it, to ask us to erase it, to withdraw your consent at any time, and to raise a grievance if you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information. To exercise any of these, simply contact our Grievance Officer (below), and we’ll respond within a reasonable time, as required under applicable law.

Children

Our website and services are meant for adults. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has shared information with us, please contact us and we’ll remove it.

Governing law & disputes

This policy is governed by the laws of India. We’d always prefer to sort out any concern with you directly and amicably — so please reach out to our Grievance Officer first, and we’ll do our best to put things right. If a dispute cannot be resolved that way, it will be referred to and finally settled by arbitration before a sole arbitrator appointed in accordance with the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. The arbitration will be conducted in English, and the seat and venue of arbitration will be Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India. Subject to the above, the courts of Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India, will have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll post the updated version here with a new effective date.
